coming home tonight to have some fun for the holiday weekend.
My 2nd favorite player has been out of the league for two years recovering from a knee injury, but Darius Miles hopes that the long road to recovery ends in Boston, as he signed with the Celtics on Friday.
Miles, a 6'9", 235lbs forward out of East St. Louis High School has posted career averages of 10.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.15 blocks in 412 career games. Miles was originally drafted with the third overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Miles last played for the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2005-06 season when he averaged a career high 14.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 40 games. Miles missed all of the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons due to microfracture surgery on his right knee.
The regular Veyron 16.4 is quite exclusive in its own right – only 160 have been built, with deposits on 240 more -- and the new Grand Sport will be built in even fewer numbers. Only 150 copies of the new roadster will be built, with the first 50 available only to current Bugatti customers.
The new Grand Sport is distinct in many ways, but the most noticeable addition -- or perhaps subtraction -- is the removable roof. The roof is made of a transparent polycarbonate and requires two people to remove. Once removed, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport becomes what Bugatti calls the fastest roadster in the world, with a top speed of around 225 mph. Put the top back and the Grand Sport will reach just over 250 mph and hit 0-62 in just 2.5 seconds.
All that performance and exclusivity comes at a high price. The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport will be priced at 1.4 million euros (just over $2 million) when it becomes available next March.
Meanwhile Brandon Rothe and Paulo Prietto will have a much more competitive race for the second place spot over the next two events. Brandon is currently in second with a 212 point lead.
Brad Domke placed second in the Vilano event which earned him a razor thin 4th place spot, with Morgan Just only 11 points behind him and Brandon Sears only 39 points behind Morgan. This will likely make the race for 4th, 5th and 6th place the most exciting to follow in the final two events.
In the second game of TNT's double-header, the championship runner-ups host the team that just might have the most buzz surrounding it as an up-and-coming franchise. The matchup will feature a big man making a comeback for both teams as L.A. fans will finally get to see what an Andrew Bynum-Pau Gasol-Lamar Odom front court will look like, while the No. 1 pick of the 2007 Draft, Greg Oden, will anchor the middle for the first time for the fresh-look Blazers.
